Having a Christening reception in a Scottish castle is becoming more popular.

Back when the chiefs of the Clan Galbraith called for victuals, the kitchen staff could only make do with whatever simple ingredients they had at hand - but of course that included salmon and trout, all manner of game, rich tangy cheeses and, in season, wonderful vegetables, wild mushrooms and berries ... Imagine having such a larder to choose from! |
Fresh Scottish produce is still the basis of what Culcreuch Castle offers today - although it's served with more imagination and much better manners! The hotel offers the choice of 6 different public rooms in which your guests can be treated to the finest Scottish cuisine.

The Laird's Hall, the largest of Culcreuch's public rooms, covers the entire first floor of the tower, the oldest part of the building. Originally the great hall of the castle, it is now beautifully decorated and furnished with period antiques and is ideal if you plan to invite lots of guests.
Arthur's Seat, a Fine Dining Restaurant, pictured on the right, is set on the first floor and features elegant candlelit dining from table d'hote or a la carte menus.

Galbraith Hall, pictured to the left here, was originally the castle stables and retains its stone walls. It has a less formal feel than the main house and is ideal for larger parties.

The Dungeon Diner restaurant, with its burnished stone walls, is very atmospheric. Despite its name, it's a warm friendly place. Draft and bottled beers and a selection of fine malt whiskies are also available. With its log fire, the cosy bar is just what it claims to be! |
With several different dining options available at Culcreuch Castle, staff are always on-hand to assist you in deciding which of their restaurants would best suit your plans. Why not call for an informal chat about your plans and offer practical advice and ideas?
